Day 15

Image
(I realized that we have stopped posting the accurate days. The days now represent the times when we remember to blog haha...) Sprint CLC planning today. Buffer week where we are getting a lot of clean up done before early bird next week. David finally got relay working properly and Julie got the initial screen for create listing to work. Jerry finished the top bar implementation yesterday. Jason pulling through with the immediate back end fixes and he even got the home view toggle to work! Ellen's pushing through and experimenting with layouts on home view and Leslie is forever designing and prototyping. Let's keep up the good work team! Here comes the home stretch before early bird. Let's keep this good momentum going for the following week :)

Day 14

dibbs lunch & learn! Today we had our first dibbs lunch & learn! David talked about react-native and some core concepts needed to work on the front end. Leslie gave us more insight into what Relay is and why it's a good alternative to use as opposed to Apollo. Jason gave us a quick Ruby tutorial and a tour of the backend. Julie showed us her amazing work on dibbsthat.com. She was also able to get our SSL certificate to work. Yay https! We also went over out roadmap for the next few weeks and months. During our breaks, Leslie had mini dance session tutorials with Jack, Jason and David. We went to the new pizza place in the plaza for dinner and went to Coco to get bubble tea and finally take a team picture! After dibbs dinner (featuring one of our stakeholders Jack), we set up camp in one of the interview rooms in the new Laurier building to push our D3 for SE463. Long day but pretty productive.

Day 13

This was technically yesterday but we had our weekly meeting. We discussed our second spring - BLACKPINK. The plan is that we'll put the backend on pause for now only respond to immediate bug requests on the backend. Instead, Jerry, Jason and Julie plan on supporting David and Ellen on the front end to help pump out the mobile prototype. There are some architectural changes concerning Graphql that we were discussing but have not yet evaluated if it's reasonable to push out these changes for v1. That's all :)

Day 12

Image
Leslie's been trying to get some branding work done by developing and iterating over new logos. Haven't found something we're happy with in terms of the application icon and stuff.  She did come up with a sticker design we could potentially use for marketing! Jerry created a flow chart that lays out how the app is supposed to function. Here's a quick peek.

Day 10

Sorry for the inconvenience 😓 ANDDDD WE HAVE SOME EXCITING NEWS TODAY! dibbsthat.com is online now! Thank you for everyone who helped us brainstorm dibbs, and I want to thank everyone on the team for the hard work 💘 Although we still have a lot of work to do, i think it will be fun 👪 Long weekend started yesterday... Leslie was dancing with her friends in MC 👯 Jerry went back to Toronto to eat some good food without inviting us 😥 David worked on dibbs 💪 Ellen went to Toronto to celebrate her friend's bday 💞 Jason probably worked on dibbs 🙌 Julie was chilling with her HS friend at Bao💥

For Sunday May 14, 2017 Happy Mother's Day!!! Jason trolled Jerry by swallowing errors and only logging "internal server error". Jason un-trolled Jerry by printing error message and backtrace. Jerry worked on retrieving Facebook user data. Jason wrote some authentication tests.

Day 4

Image
We bought the domain dibbsthat.com for $11.23 CAD 👪 David and Jason worked together to get frontend and the backend connected!!!! Ellen is enjoying her Saturday with her parents 👼 Leslie is celebrating Mother's day one day early and she is coming back to waterloo tonight! Julie is being lazy today... I don't know what Jerry is doing today ( sorry... ) Jerry here: I went for a run in the gym, went for shopping, then aunt home for family dinner:)

Day 3

Image
Jason is trying to get facebook authentication working... getting there! David fixed a bug that unblocked Ellen and Leslie 😍 Also, he just pushed all the responsibility to Ellen when Julie needed help. Ellen thinks: she was wrong..... but, it turned out to be David's fault 😡 Julie tried to purchase the domain, dibbsthat.com, but somehow didn't happen Jerry went back to Toronto and was working from a Starbucks with bad wifi Leslie was deciding where the "Join Community" button should be located 😋 What a nice day :) FYI: David is speechless / mad at Julie
